Contacting The Patrol

We are dispatched though the New Zealand Police Communications centre. The communications centre will decide on which agencies to contact in an emergency. For general questions or non emergencies call the non-emergency number 0800 105 777 NZ landlines only or *555 on your mobile phone.

Only call 111 for emergencies only when someone is badly injured or in danger or there's a serious risk to life or property.

A crime is being committed and the offenders are still there or have just left or you've come across a major public inconvenience, such as trees blocking a highway if any of these things are happening now or have just happened.

If you can't decide if it's a real emergency and you're still worried, call 111 and ask them. They will help you work out what to do.
