Who can be a volunteer?

Prerequisites

Our Volunteers are from all walks of life.

We have male and female patrollers from 18 yrs old to 80 yrs.

Volunteers must be willing to donate 4hrs a month.

As long as you are medically fit and have a current driver’s license you can be a volunteer.

All Volunteers must be able to read and write fluently in English

All applicants will be police vetted.

Our approach

Our Training
All Applicants are first vetted by Police and then the successful applicants undergo a three month training program.

The training program involves a short  induction(2hrs), a few online training modules and thereafter all trainees will have  3 patrols in one of our patrol cars with a designated trainer. All trainees will be given a handbook to keep track of their training.

Once the trainee volunteers have completed all of their training and the probationary period, they will go onto our monthly roster.

CPNZ uniforms and ID’s will be provided to all successful trainees.

Patroller Scheduling
We Patrol 24hrs a day. There is always a timeslot available to accommodate all volunteers.

Patrollers choose their patrol time slot and days of patrol a month in advance to enable scheduling. This is not set in stone and can be changed at any time to accommodate the unknown.

New Patrollers are partnered up with a more experienced volunteer. There is a choice of morning, afternoon and evening shifts.

Members are asked to donate a minimum of two x 2hr patrols a month but can patrol more if they wish. (minimum of 4hrs in total per month)
